My Creative Director at Microsoft was prolific in his weird quotes. I jotted down the best one-liners during my group’s morning critique session, secretly collecting them for months. He idolized the International Typographic Style, Massimo Vignelli, and the Grid, and he often referenced all three in his feedback.
Borrowing styles and patterns from the very design movements my boss idolized, I created posters with only the best quotes. I used a very strict grid layout, a pure color palette, Helvetica Neue (of course), and used only colors and geometry to visualize the quotes. These posters were created at tabloid size and printed for display in the office.
